Stopped by Jeni's in the North Market yesterday and asked about the new Dublin store location anticipated opening. Target opening is April 1. Where exactly is their new location? And yes - my Lemon yogurt was to die for.

I can't wait! Jeni's is going to be one of our restaurant participants at the upcoming DAC Garden Party on April 3. I hope to sample a few different flavors. Colleen Marshall will be our MC for the event. She was telling me that Jeni's has a 'sweet and salty something or other' that is a "must try." Does anyone know what that flavor is?

I believe they are openning up right on the corner of Bridge & High St....where Unveiled Photography used to be.

I was down at the Short North location for gallery hop and the line was down the street! Quite amazing, here's hoping they have the same demand in the BriHi district!!

Here's the Villager's story from last summer about the new Jeni's in Dublin. Salty caramel rocks.

Jeni's Ice Cream to open in Dublin

Just 5 more days to Jeni's. They'll have Kona Stout ice cream at the Dublin store. Here's the description from Jeni's Web site:

Kona Stout
Rich Russian Imperial Stout from Barley's and Stauf’s Kona coffee steeped in cream. Smooth. Perfect complement to dark gingerbread or rich chocolate cake.

This is definitely not low-cal. I think you gain five pounds just from reading the description.

Is it true or April Fool - heard Jeni's will be giving out free small cones tomorrow to commemorate the new Dublin store grand opening?

Andy: We estimate there about 1000 people that came to the opening last Wednesday. There was a line around the corner for a few hours! Business has been great and customers have been super friendly. Stop in and say hello! There are some photos and a video of the event on the Jeni's Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jenis-Splendid-Ice-Creams/53668535491...

    Dublin history lesson

Peter and Benjamin Sells came to the area around 1801 from Huntington County, Pa., to buy land. Old Dublin was first platted in 1810 by their brother, John. Surveyor John Shields named the town after his birthplace in Ireland. The town developed the usual assortment of mills, shops and churches, with settlers coexisting peacefully with Wyandot Indians, who camped on Indian Run. The town gained notoriety in the mid-19th century, when a surplus of taverns and rowdy Civil War veterans gave the village a tough reputation. Columbus' growth and the construction of I-270 made expansion inevitable. Dublin achieved city status in 1987.
